Introduction to Lee Style

Introduction
The Lee Family System of Taoist Health, Cultural and
Wu Shu Arts originated in Wei Hei Wei, North Eastern China, more than
2000 years ago. The style was exclusive to the Lee family until
Professor Lee Kam Chan introduced it to England in the 1930's.
Lee Kam Chan died in 1953 and the Arts were passed
down to his adopted nephew, Master Chee Soo, who taught the system until
his death in 1994.
The Lee Tai Chi form consists of a long sequence of
flowing movements performed at a slow rhythmic pace with deep co-ordinated
breathing and full concentration. These movements contain the essence of
health and longevity and help the practitioner to develop strong
internal energy. A moving meditation, regular practice of Tai Chi Chuan
promotes a sense of inter peace and tranquility.
This course contains a technical demonstration, with
Tony Swanson, one of Chee Soo's most senior instructors, of the first
fifteen sequences (50 movements) of Lee Family Tai Chi Form. You are
given the opportunity to focus on postures and hand techniques required
for each sequence, before considering the flow of movement between one
sequence and the next.
