10 Step Simplified Taijiquan Form


Lesson 2 - Whirl Arms

Turn your body slightly to the right. Your left hand extends forwards and your right hand draws back past your right thigh and upwards in a circular movement. As both palms approach shoulder height, both palms turn to face upward.

Bend right wrist and elbow, so that your palm is facing downwards. Bring your right palm past your right ear and push forwards, so that your index finger finishes in line with your nose, palm facing away and figures pointing upwards.

At the same time, your left hand draws back to side of waist, with palm facing upwards.

Turn your body slightly to the left. Draw your left hand back and upwards in a circular movement. As your left hand approaches shoulder height, both palms turn to face upwards.

Bend left wrist and elbow, so that your palm is facing downwards. Bring your left palm past your left ear and push forwards, so that your index finger finishes in line with your nose, palm facing away and figures pointing upwards.

At the same time, your right hand draws back to side of waist, with palm facing upwards.
